Facts:

• In the early 1900’s it was common for fashionable women to wear multiple layers of under garments once.  Many women required the help of a lady’s maid.​

• Women of the this time period tended to wear corsets to get the desired S-bend silhouette that was very popular.

    o Many did this despite doctors’ warnings of bodily damage.  The corsets would affect both bones and organs when they “reshaped” the torso.

• Stockings were worn.
    o Stockings that depicted a snake curled around the leg became largely popular after sequined snake stockings were shown at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
